    The 1967 model 60 and 80 hp models had battery powered ignition.----Had windings under the flywheel to charge a battery.----A 67 model donor motor to get the bits might not be easy to find.----Would need the flywheel as well. and upper bearing housing I think.------Lot of work.

    Sparkplugs last for years and years on this 1998 motor.------Best to spend money and time on other things like a new impeller in water pump.-----If oil injection is in service a new oil filter and oil " consumption test " should be done !!

    Water pressure gauge is a good investment.-----A shop charges for labor / skilled service.-----There is no labor when an owner wrenches on a motor !!

    Just bought it ??-----Motor is a 1998 model crossflow.-----Compression test should be done for future reference.----Post your numbers.-----Don't spend any beer tokens till you do the inspection.

    I could not afford a new RAM 2500 pick-up either.-----I settled for a used one.-----What you paid for your boat has nothing to do with what it will cost to repair and maintain it ----Sorry.-----Set it aside and save some money.----Perhaps a smaller, lower budget boat for you.

    Pieces of the sealing ring went through there.--Inspect that ring groove--I say that cylinder needs rebore and an over size piston fitted.-----I could repair that block.-----Not sure if you have a local shop that would take this on.----Finding a rebuilt block is also an option.

    Yes the rod that was disconnected.----That is a sealing ring that broke.----The crankshaft has those sealing rings to keep the 6 crankcases separated.-----That surface must be repaired in one way or another.

    Any pictures of the bearing surface of that rod and the crankshaft surface .-----I normally spend time on those sealing rings so they slide easier as the block gets longer from heat.
