    Remove any ring bits embedded in that head.-----Use small ball peen to knock down any bumps.-----Both heads are warped to some degree.----They all are.----So refinish it with a piece of glass and valve grinding compound.-----Then reuse it..----There will be no issue with it.

    See post #2 on this.----Correct as clearly stated this----BROKEN RING SYNDROME -----Is very common.-----Your motor has the disease.-----Needs to be torn down for rebuilding.----Many will not believe it , I see this damage all the time.-----Easy fix for me.

    I would begin with an inspection of your fuel system from the pump to inside ( pick-up tube ) the tank.----Also the anti syphon valve if equipped with that.-----Or test run the motor on a known to be good portable 6 gallon tank and hose.

    There are some " timeshare " boating clubs.------Look for one in your area.------They own say 10 or 12 boats.------You pay an annual fee plus for the time you use one.-----A competent person looks after all the details ( insurance , maintenance ) ETC.------Cheapest way to go boating !!!

    It is an anode !-----Provides protection from corrosion.-----It may require some effort to remove the bearing carrier ( seal housing ) as it appears there has been corrosion.
