    stop over thinking it. use a hose clamp to secure a ground wire the the hex of the sensor, run the other end to a bolt. on all my sensors and light switches, I solder a lug on them to avoid grounding issues due to sealants and paint

    a contactor is what you are incorrectly calling a solenoid. a solenoid is a coild wound device used for mechanical movement. a contactor is a coil wound device for switching power.

    run it hard to get some heat into the oil and the little bit of moisture should come out. if the oil gets more milky, you still have an issue

    pump for the Cobra has a Blue wire you energize to go up toward the sky...... and a green wire you energize to go down toward the grass. the motor is wired to a set of contactors (relays/solenoids/other terms for contactors) that is controlled by the switch in the controls.

    Wiring is generic for the boat. Follow the wiring colors. For the motor and controls, the factory manual has the wiring.
