If your using an inductive timing light I don't know why it won't flash, may just be your light. If it is running rough then maybe your plug or plug wire is bad. You have an MPI engine and you need to put the engine in base timing mode to set the timing correctly. If your engine does not...

    New to the forums

Yep note arrow Needs a lot of work, but hey for $600 what can be expected. Run a compression test to check status of the motor. If it checks out, change all the fluids and filters, maybe even the gas if its old.

    Fuel starvation??

Looks like your engine has two oil pressure switches. The one below the distributer may not have anything to do with the fuel pump. There should be a Tee fitting where the oil sender is and may have the switch to control the pump on/off

Agree with BTdoc, find the slave solenoid and then make a 12 AWG jumper. The next time it does it turn key to on and then jump across the two top large terminals. If it cranks over you found your issue. Writing is the pic is not the post I'm talking about, they are the larger ones on top

Pop noise under engine cover, then no steering

:welcome: to iboats I think you either snapped the steering cable or broke the gear in the helm (steering box). In the bottom lower pic, remove the large nut (letter c) going to the steering ram (letter d) at the engine. Once removed then rotate the wheel and see if the cable moves

    Boat pulls to the left

Since you have PS go back to the steering ram and check to see if the cable nut is tight. There are flats on the round part of the ram, those flats need to be straight up and down.
