    ??----But there is a shift interlock !----It prevents you from winding this motor up in neutral.----Or maybe the nylon pin at the bottom of the towershaft is broken..----Or the motor is running on one cylinder.----Bring it over as this is easy to figure out.

    Perhaps tomorrow you will realize that removing the one cylinder head needs to be done.----Easy to do.----In the big picture head gaskets are cheap.

    If the solenoid does not click when you PUSH THE KEY in it is not a neutral switch problem.----Check the fuse.

    Test the fuse.----You should hear the primer solenoid click ( item with red lever ) on the motor.----Turn key on and push in , do you hear that click ,yes or no?

    The problem is that it appears to have " bonding " issues.------You fix one spot and 6 months later you have the same cracks show up 1' away.

    Trying to determine if there was a large repair job done here.------What make of boat ?-----That delamination does not look normal to me.----Looks like very poor bonding in that location.

    In 1998 there were crossflows and loopers.----The TSL models are crossflows.-----1998 was the last year for crossflow.-----I have a 115 HP crossflow 25 " model myself.

    Looks to me that there might be more issues hidden.-----Is there a way to look at the inside of the hull where this damage has shown up ?
