    I know you want things working but I gave up on the pitot tube system years ago. Block the fault and be done with it. Speed is now measured via GPS. Leave the hole on the lower unit clogged it will create less drag.

    You mean alternatives to OEM? I would buy OEM sensors. Aftermarket is asking for trouble.

    After a hard run he gets an alarm. Remnants of exhaust shutters blocking exhaust passages, BTDT. With the alpha the relief ports on each side of the drive are enough to handle normal running, but not at WOT.

    I'm guessing the 19 is the Mercury Black Max. If the 17 was the same I would expect it to put you around 5200 rpms which is 200 over but what you need. This boat is not going to be everything to everyone. On skiing days use the 17 (Black Max), if just cruising use the 19. When going fast...

    You'll need to be more specific with the props. What are the makes, models and steel or aluminum. Hard to believe the 17 only turned 10 more rpms than the 19 unless they are different prop makes or families. 46 mph is moving out and decent performance for this boat.

    Lower unit piece cracked off alpha one

    That's what I would do also. Mine broke off a bigger chunk at the tail end caused by the prop catching debris and pressing against the vent plate. It didn't seem to affect performance but I didn't like the way it looked so I took it to a prop shop and had it fixed. Yours isn't near as noticeable.

    Too funny! I tried parking it here when I first remarried (I married into the HOA) and got a nasty letter in no more than about a week. HOA seems pretty strong. My buddy lives in one, in a different town, and all they seem to do is cash a check. Not here.

    Possible maybe. I thought it might fit under my deck but the post to the wall distance is 7'7". Haven't measured the trailer width but I'm thinking that won't work.

    It's a 21 foot boat with 8.5 beam. I've thought of something similar but I imagine I would need the trailer more often than I think. Example: How do you remove an outdrive, which needs to be done frequently, with the boat on a lift?

    For those who slip/moor their trailerable boats, where do you store your trailer? I live in an HOA. Unless I have a friend with a farm, which I don't, I suppose I'd have to pay for storage. Just wondering what others do.
