    Another nice day other than more wind . Got the rub rails finished up and tried to tie in the carpet where the stern cap meets the gunnels . Will see tomorrow how it looks after the glue dries . Pulled the bottom of the doghouse in and mounted it, still have to re re re cover the turtle shell...

    Finally stopped raining here and I've had a couple of days to work on the boat again. Had a few problems with the shift Bell Crank among other things but it's all good now . Wet sanded and primed the outdrive today and will install the end on the transom shift cable before and hook the shift...

    OMC Cobra gimble ring - is v8 the same ring as 4cyl

    I may or may not have screwed up the threads on some of the studs on my transom plate/gimble ring studs. If i can not salvage the studs and have to replace the ring , can I use a transom setup from a 4 cyl or should i only use a unit from a v8 ?
