    What a train wreck !! I finished the 1st coat of white paint on the transom with the roll and tip method and you can see every friggin roller and brush mark in the paint as if that was the desired look. Anywhere the brush missed the roller marks show up. Tomorrow I'm going to scratch it up good...

    Time to stop screwing around and get my new transom glued up and screwed down. I need to mount a transom board as well and I'm not sure how far out from the center I can mount it and still have the transducers work right. Anyone know for sure ? Picture shows about where I want to put it.

    Ok, all sparred up and waiting to dry . Crawled in the boat and cleaned up the transom skin with a little sand paper and Purple Power mixed with water . When it dried I shot the skin with some corrosion converter for good measure. Don't know if I need to paint over it or just leave in and...

    Cutting a new transom--sterndrive-Aluminum boat.

    There is a slight angle cut into the bottom of the keyhole for some reason and i'm not sure that it should be there. MTboatguy said that he thought it was a mis adjusted jig at the factory. You guys have any opinion on this ? Should I cut the angle into the bottom of the keyhole or cut it...

    The bottom of the keyhole is cut at a slight angle , is this normal or was it just cut wrong to begin with ??? Tried to get a good picture of it but don't know if you can see it .-----

    had to cut access holes in the deck to get the last 2 bolts out . transom out and no sign of a leak at the keyhole. the only real rot is at deck level beside the engine where my knife is stuck. Looks like 80 bucks a sheet for 3/4 " marine ply so guess ill be out 160 for the wood but this is...

    what is too long a time to run a gimble bearing ---

    will try to show the white contamination on the gimble--- left side just under the 2nd bolt . i do think that the spline grease looks like it may have some contamination as well but not as prominent .
