    Hard start warm

1989 5.7L Alpha Rochester 4 bbl. Choke appears to be working correctly. Fires right up when cold. Once it's warmed up she will spin like there's no timing chain . Only way to get her to catch is WOT. What should I look for (other than a fire extinguisher)?

Got the report back from the surveyor and he says we can keep her. :D 1989 Carver Santego 30. Twin 5.7L Alphas. Right now she's being shrink wrapped. New mooring cover is part of the deal. My question is, for a boat this size where there is no trailer how do you do your own work on...

    Strange battery Issue

2 battery setup with a Perko switch. Battery 1 is also direct wired to the bilge pump. I don't have a meter so I'm throwing out the symptoms to see if anyone has any ideas. Both batteries replaced this spring. Both batteries connected to trickle chargers at the dock. When I'm running on...

    Pulpit ideas

As my Erie experience has increased I'm now wanting the ability to quickly deploy an anchor. As it is now the anchor is in a locker and is not easily accessible. In an emergency with rough seas it is almost totally inaccessible. I's like some sort of pulpit but the bow design limits what I...

    Lake Erie Tides

I'm not joking. Water level has been down all year. This morning I see a Facebook post from Rescue Marine...If your boat is still in the water please check on it this morning. We had water levels in the Marblehead area yesterday that approached four inches BELOW low water datum, this morning...

    Now is the time...

If you've been on the fence about selling or trading your boat now is the time. There is a severe shortage of nice used inventory. When new boat sales tanked so did the plentiful supply of trade-ins. New sales are just now starting to pick up and the used numbers won't recover for some time...
