    The Kolher gens. are some of the most annoying things I erver tried to fix, there's something like 8 different safety switches. I would start by checking the connections in both the engine wiring harness and the gen wiring harness and also the 3 fuses. I tinkered with mine for about 6 months...

    ^^ yea I don't think a miss fire is setting off alarms, that's usually oil pressure or temp. and then there's the high water alarm. Had that before when the alarm float broke

    I'm with Scott, the the biggest issue I've had with mine is exhaust manifolds and risers, and now I do not run the factory gaskets between the riser and manifold I use a fiber one and that seems to work a lot better for me

    Those plugs are probably not your problem, there not bad looking. Have a Yamaha tech run diagnostics on the engine so your not just shooting in the dark
