Need a New battery ,got more for less at Wallyworld....I think

You beat me to it. I thought I remembered something like that. I replaced mine in 2018 or '19, unnecessarily apparently (another story), and I'm having to charge the deep cycle replacement I got from A/Z every time before I hit the lake this year or it doesn't crank like it should if it's been...

Ram 5.7L hemi engine tick, misfire cyl 3

My neighbor had a Hemi Ram for a few years that ticked. He'd start it up, let it run for as long as it took him to move his hand from the key to the shifter, and go ticking off down the road every morning. Don't know the year. He's got a Ford diesel now and lets it warm up about the same...

    Hole shot, or up easy?

I like to do it quick (like push it to WOT reasonably quickly) and back off to 3k or so like others have said, once up, but last time out I started using part-throttle and it came up fine like that. I must be getting old too, heh. One time in a previous season, I think when I was letting one...

    Causes for concern?

Yeah. Mine (1986/88 OMC Cobra) was torn through when I bought it. Don't have one at all now, just a flapper. Replaced the driveshaft bellows the next season, and it was still holding. That issue makes an outboard look kinda good though.

    91 OMC 4.3 ESA Problems

RPM is too high. Are you actually working the microswitch to test it? Is the motor running well otherwise? It shouldn't die, especially from 800RPM unless something else is wrong. Lou C is the expert. Search with his name and you'll find all kinds of stuff.

    Causes for concern?

That would be the exhaust bellows?... Other hole doesn't look good...

    Check your furnace filter

I've got 2 returns in the ceiling, and there's a filter at each. Obviously they didn't catch everything though. After all that, after running for several hours straight last night, the sound level through the returns increased noticeably, lol. So something's not exactly right now. I can't...

    Check your furnace filter

I got some unwanted time with my indoor unit today - like all day off and on, changing the blower motor and then cleaning at the indoor coil and unclogging the condensate drain - and I confirmed that there is no filter in the furnace itself. It's an upflow style, with a side return, right into...

    Anchoring question

Is there an unwritten rule that anchor rope should sink (in case you have to cut it loose) and ski/tow rope should float (to keep it out of the prop, etc.)? That's what I got from the boat PO, and it seems to make sense. He had the chain near the end too.

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

Most unfortunate! Well, maybe the heater core is an easier change than accessing the blend door. But I won't bet on it. The good news is that I got this car for less than $1,000 with a trans that was acting up. Turned out to be low fluid from a bad leak in the pan gasket (first thing I did...

    Torque Roll?

Lol. I can think of one potential rider I'm not sure I'd want to take, for that reason. It'd prob be fine though. I don't really like people sitting in the bow while I'm underway; blocks my vision. And I'm tall enough in the body that I look over the windshield. Kinda shoots down the...

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

The heater barely works in that car too. I was down to thinking it was the blend door (I've done the feel-the-hoses-at-the-firewall test, and things seemed correct like it was flowing through the core), but I'm 2nd guessing that just a little. I dread tearing the dash apart (though maybe I can...

    New boat owner!

And the guests that get taken on the first outing get in on the "fun".

    I can relate to this!

I spent most of my workout time one morning a couple months ago picking up the screws from my sheet metal/wood screws tote that I kicked off the table while I was stretching. That stuff's a liability sometimes... Awful nice when you have something you need though. The sure way to need it real...

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

Lol. I've certainly done my share of that, but I think this bad boy was rusty/dirty when I got a hold of it. It's only the 5.0L anyway, sigh. With 2.56:1 gears yet. And whoever thinks that was a good idea in a car that size has little use for acceleration. Gets about 25mpg on the hwy...

    Boat Ramp Etiquette

I'd say there was maybe 4' between me and the next trailer (which went in at the middle spot) after I was already backed in on Saturday. I thought it was a little close, but I was OK with it. I was out before they got their boat on there. There is enough room for 3 if everyone plans it right...

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

It had some iffy maintenance from PO - NO air filter, rear brakes weren't done right (instead of a F and R shoe on each side, there was 2 fronts on one side and 2 rears on the other), etc., so antifreeze mixing might've gotten done somewhere along the line. I didn't know it was a prob, and...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

I was thinking about the premium leaded gas that my first car ran on, that wasn't available that much longer if I remember right. '70 Pontiac with a 455. Didn't have it but a year or two so availability of that didn't affect me. The ones after that took regular or unleaded, even though one of...

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

Lol. Yeah, I started that process yesterday and the running temp was perfectly fine today. I'm gonna have to do it several times though. Idk for sure if the radiator's the source of built up gunk, but I've ordered another one since I'm pretty sure now it's got a new leak anyway. Just never...

Nasty Cooling System - '93 Chevy Caprice

This is a car I bought for the engine several years ago, but ended up just adding to my collection and driving it. I put a water pump on it early on and remember that the coolant was kind of dirty, brown stains in the overflow tank and that. I flushed the radiator several months ago, and had...
