    Ignition wiring-What did I miss?

    mechanical fuel pump issues

    1968 3.0 4 banger with mechanical fuel pump. This is the "top up" model with the seperate fuel filter bowl. I disconnected the fuel line to the carb to see if any fuel was getting there.. nothing. I remove the pump from the motor, bump the rocker arm/piston by hand, and fuel pumps as it...

    Shift cable spring screw

    I am at an inpass.. Changing both throttle and shift cables... I do not see this covered in any of the 975 pages of Merc manual #1. On the stern end, the old cable has this spring loaded pin/screw with the pin through the other end. I assume that this spring allows for movement during shifting...

    I just ordered a Cobra MRHH 100VP handheld VHF.. The reviews were pretty good on the website..but am now thinking I may have gone too cheap on such an important item... It has a max of 2 watts....Enough for very near inshore?? Anybody have any experience with this model? Thanks as always...
