I have looked aimlessly to find a windshield wiper pair (rubber and metal arm) to fit my ventage 1986. Wiper motors and studs are great as to the rest of the electrical. Any suggestions?
fine motor but why was moved from boat or maybe removed from truck in lieu of putting into boat. Run compression and oil checks to be sure. Keep in mind if your boat is carbureted, it is more laborious installing an EFI
depending on condition of wooden transom and /or stringers, you may have flexing ROT. EASY TO test with drill and 3/8" drill bit. If crap or water comes out, you will be pissing away good money patching crap.
get a welding shop to build a steel A frame. You will need it AGAIN and can sleep well at night. Make sure wide enough to drive out boat. I lowered my 2 v8s into cockpit areal and covered but I had room.
saltwater boat? replace motors and cooling risers and manifolds, now. Sound the transom for rot. If rot, expect a lot of money out of pocket, even if you can do work yourself. Trust me!
Like Scott says and pray your transom is not rotten. Gimbal bearings and u-joints are cheap compared to replacing transom. Trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may have worn out or possibly former owner dropped it or forgot to put it back. I had a Dodge truck transmission that would not downshift. Turns out that I left off a shifter washer that acted as a special spacer. Duh.....
Go buy a cheap inferred thermometer. Determine if the thermometer reading is close to your boat's temperature readings. That old of boat, I'd pull risers and rod them out.
Build a drip tray similar to a gutter. You will have to figure out best place. Also, a piece of hard plastic across dist. and trim pump electrical will help
I feel your pain. I cannibalized a cheap scissors jack and welded extra parts on it. Unfortunately, when I sold my MC back in the late 90s, it went with the boat. Otherwise, I'd send photos.
On Chevy blocks there is a pipe threaded plug on each side of block under heads. You can use a mirror to see it. I believe it is 3/8" NPT. It will drain excessive water not dumped out by hoses.
