    RPM vs load question

Usually when I'm out by myself I hit the mark. 5500rpm at 40-43 mph WOT. Normally when I take the family out I don't go at WOT. However, yesterday we were trying the beat the storm home. With with three adults and a puddgy dog I maxed out at 4800rpms @36mph. Is that normal for an extra...

    Intake

I think I know the answer, but I have to ask. I recently added a cold air intake to my truck for more power. Added about 10 horses and sounds great. This got me thinking. I have a spare crowl for my 150. If I cut three holes right in front of my three carbs, remove the carb covers and...

    Mixing additives question

Would any harm come if I were to premix my 2 stroke oil and Stabil prior to adding the fuel? I just bought 1 gallon of 2 stroke syn blend oil and a container of Stabil. To lube 10 gallons of gas I need 26 oz of oil for a 50:1 ratio. To treat 10 gallons of gas I need 1 oz of Stabil. A full...

    Adding tongue weight

Hello, I have seached this forum but can't find a definite answer about adding tongue weight. I just bought a new Shoreliner single axel bunk trailer for my 18 foot ski/fish boat. The boat weighs 1200 pounds and the trailer 600. At 10% the tongue should weigh 180lbs. I can pick it up with...

    Attwood 6 gallon tank

Hello, Last year I installed a 6 gallon gas tank made by Attwood I bought from Wal-mart. Hooked up a selector switch so I can feed off my main 17gallon tank or use my 6 gallon as a spare. It worked flawlessly last year. Had the boat a few times this year just running the main tank, no...

    Fuel gauge at half

Hello, I bought a Faria fuel gauge, Euro white face black bezel. Last week I filled my boat fuel tank, when I turned on my acc. the gauge only went to 1/2. My tank is visible, so I know it was full, plus gas came out the vent hose. So I took the float/sender out of the tank, and sure enough...

    Sputtering

I've been searching on here for a while and can't find a answer. While cruising around at wot my motor runs great but while I pull it back to 1/2 throttle it sounds horrible for about a full minute then it mellows out. It sputters and revs. It will keep doing that for 1 minute. I considered...

    Bad Rectifier?

Re: Bad Rectifier? Start with the battery(s) disconnected. Take a reading from your muiltimeter. Set it to VDC, red lead to positive terminal and black lead to the negitive terminal. It should read between 11.5 and 13 volts. Never run your motor without a battery, this will for sure fry...

    Trim Question

On this forum I was told that you need to be trimmed up to top off the hydraulic reservoir. However, Clymer says "Trim the outboard to the full down position." Also, it mentions using 10W-40 engine oil? Is that right? Thanks, Tom
