    i just got and repowered a 23ft center console sea ray it has a 3-4" crack on the sides of the engine the prevous owner put something looks like 5200 for a cheap repair . wondering what to do. maybe some type of expoxy to fix it better:rolleyes:

    does anyone know the wot rpms of a 2001 jon 250 i had the thing pinned and it was only at 4500 rpms she felt like she had more in her. just replaced cables and wondering if i should adjust the throttle one better:eek:

    2001 jon shift cable

    just wondering witch way to turn the adjuster on cable on engine . its a 2001 jon 250 it seems to be too much forward it has trouble engaging in rev. I have to throw the lever almost all the way down to engage into rev and it seem to be popping in and out almost.

    ok im trying to bleed my seastar hydros and i followed the instructions . but its weird it turns fine one way and stops. then it wont turn back the other way unless i crack a bleeder again and vice versa . the wheel turns the engine both way but to move it to the other side it wont go unles i...

    i cant bleed my sea star hydrolic steering i was wondering if maybe the helm pump was bad. it makes a clicking noise when i spin the wheel.is it fixable or trash .it maybe is a stupid question be does the engine have to be running to bleed the system . im new to hydros and cant figure y it wont...

    hydrolic steering help please !!!

    im trying to bleed the steering the helm took about a 1/4 of the quart and stoped.its not coming out of the bleeders at the piston and the piston isnt moving yet.what am i doing wrong.i keep spinning the wheel but no air bubbles anymore.its also clicking is that normal help please

    anyone have any easy ideas to keep my boat on the trailer and just lift it up to change a couple of rollers. i know stands would b the way to go but i dont have any and have been trying to borrow some but no takers.:confused:

    2001 jon 250 cables

    Ok I got a 2001 johnson250 I replaced the shift and throttle cables. The throttle seems ok but at first it would only shift into reverse so I tightened the cable. And now it only shifts into foward . Anyone got any suggestions

    shift cable

    OK I PUT NEW CABLES ON AND THERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE THROTTLE IS OK BUT FIRST IT WOULD ONLY SHIFT INTO REVERSE.SO I MESSED WITH THE TENSION AND NOW IT ONLY SHIFTS INTO FOWARD. ITS SOUNDS STUPID BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM DOING WRONG:confused:

    greese fitting

    ok i changed my greese fittings on my outboard and it still wont accept greese i think the old greese is hardened how do i fix im go n crazzzy i sprayed wd 40 and even poked with a coat hanger it still wont accept greese is there a EASY BUTTON

    i was hooking up gauges and two pos wires touched is there a fuse on the engine i cant find my accesories still work its just the engine wont do anything the controls and trim wont work by the engine has power at terminal and i can jump wire it and it will turn help im go n crazy

    i got a 2001 johnson 250 and i can fiqure out how to put the cables on the engine when i hook it up its hard too move shifter does anyone have any pics or advice thanks

    Can anyone help me out with soome kind of diagram to hook up this engine . Mostly the shift and throttle cables I think I can see the rest but any other suggestions won't be turned doown
