    Trim Pump Suitability - Pre alpha MC-1 - 1 hr to decide !

    Hi all, got a chance of a bargain pump as mine takes too long to trim. Existing is 1977 Prestolite on an MC-1 Merc 470 Its the type with the plastic reservoir and the existing is the prestolite. Will this fit / work ? I have 1 hr to get it ! Many thanks in advance. Ron.

    470 Now running - quick video

    Hi all, after overheating issues I found a 3/4 pipe where a 5/8 should have been on the transom water pickup. Replaced and tested in bucket prior to water test. took a video and wanted your opinions as to whether it all looks good ? Many thanks Ron.

    Should the Alpha 1 have 2 trim pump solenoids ?

    Looking at my A1. The pump has only 1 solenoid visible. Should there be 2 ? My leg takes ages to come up - 45 seconds, and recently only partially comes up again and was wondering why. Thanks Ron.

    Finally On the water - 1977 470 Lives - Video

    Well all, thanks to the forum and all the help she got wet for the first time in 6 months. All went well until the high temp alarm sounded and we had to let her cool down. I think I need another impeller in the leg. Never the less a very happy moment - thank you.

    Tips on MC1 Lower leg installation ?
