1958 Evinrude Bigtwin 35/1969 Evinrude Ski Twin 33 powerhead swap

A lot of people think that cause the Displacement, Bore and Stroke, even the Rated Rpm and Rpm Ranges are the same, that the 57, and some of the 58-59 35hps, and the later 33hp, are the same Identical Motor. In 58 and 59, there were two completely different 35hps motors by OMC. with not a lot of...

Engine, Carb or Prop? need suggestions or ideas please.

Okay I was curious, cause Time and Time Again, I have come across those who drop Auto-Truck Engines into a Boat, and the Performance is worse than an Engine of half the Hp. It might eventually get to the correct Rpm Range, but might take 10 minutes, of Poor Acceleration

I have never understood why so many People have Trouble with Trim Settings. Heck I learned how to do it before I was 14, and it took all of a couple of Hole Shots

1958 Evinrude Bigtwin 35/1969 Evinrude Ski Twin 33 powerhead swap

I know the Pistons are different between the 58 motor and the 69. Might just be the Tin Plating used on the newer Motor, but... I would put some Plasterzine on the Top of the Pistons and check the Clearances. You are planning to swap the Heads, and the Recoil, so you might as well transfer the...

    1976 Evinrude 35

OMC used a few different Ignition Systems on that lineage of Motor. The Low Tension System used on the 76 model is quite Reliable and easy to service, and Service Parts are easy to attain. Those neat Electronic Boxes on later Motors, are not serviceable and require replacement when they fail...

1958 Evinrude Bigtwin 35/1969 Evinrude Ski Twin 33 powerhead swap

I think the Heads are different, not just because of the Compression Relief on the 58, but because the Cowl attaches to a Bracket on the Head, might also apply to the Crankcase.

WOT timing value on a 90hp johnson?

WOT Range for a 96 90hp Crossflow is 4500-5500. The 90 makes its Peak Hp at about 4700-4800rpm Isn't there a Sticker on the Airbox that states WOT Timing? 28 BTDC was common on the 90hp. However, setting that at cranking speeds could yield a different value when running at High Rpm due to the...

    NEED PROP ADVICE: '78 Johnson115 2stroke/ '82 Ranger 330V

#4 #5 Trimmed all the way Down at WOT? That is one way to really kill Top Speed, and create a very Dangerous Control Situation. Trimming all the way Down is done to reduce Bow Lift getting on Plane and running at very low Planing Speeds. Usually once on Plane, the engine is Trimmed out...

Trailer bearing blowout. Need help with repair(s)

Contact EZLoader and see how much a new Axle and Hubs is. Might not be too much more than trying to repair the Damage, and that way the risk of the Wheels being Cambered or Toed In/Out is minimal
