    You will need a large array to charge your batteries. Also you'll most lily not be able to have the panels at the optimal angle.

    What boscoe99 said. Is it 2 or 4 stroke? How long does it run before the alarm sound? Does the motor go into limp mode? Hows the water flow from the pisser?

    Visually check and ohm out your cables. Clean and tighten cable connections. Measure voltages at the key switch.

    I've taken 16' to 21' boats to Catalina many times. Sometimes not the smartest thing to do but it can be done, I would not do it with inexperienced ocean people or toddlers. You have to realize regardless of the morning weather and sea conditions it turns to victory at sea very fast around...

    I feel like an idiot for having to ask this question, but never seen this before....

    My tank has two pickups, one for main the other for reserve. The reserve pickup tube is several inches longer to reach the last few gallons of gas. Could the plate with screws around it be the sender unit?

    Are those holes in your transom unplugged? Also your transducer is mounted wrong.

    Wire the radio to it's own hot circuit thru a fuse. Don't mess with the alarm wiring.

    What do you mean the meter is only as good as the operator? I'm referring to an RF meter not the probe type. You hold it against the hull and look at the meter and listen for it to make a sound. I do agree with you about the bottom paint.
