    At the very least you should run some cleaner product such as Evinrude engine cleaner ..all depends on engine performance when you start it up imho anyway. Cleaning injectors is like virtue... nobody is against it :) yet... if pump failure was caused by water in the fuel...maybe injectors...

    another thing with the helicoil is I don’t know where the tab will fall in the block (if at all) when I punch it out. maybe you can just leave it in place and install a bolt that will not extend beyond the back threads ... leaving the tab in place. In any event its rather small and worse...

    a weak 7.5 is no better than a strong 6 You can't realy tell beforehand ...don't be to hung up on a few mph just enjoy the ride.

    two hose tanks to consider on the 7.5. if ok fine if not you can modify to pump ..... great motors 6hp fisherman is fine also nice motor do compression tests on both and go for the better of the two otherwise check for mecanical and amount of TLC it got for 50 + years...

    never heard of ATF in fuel ... Oly's brew suggests xd30 ... early I3 etec used to inject some xd100 or tcw3 oil in the fuel line ...to bad they stopped that after 2007 or so .

    no reason to "alarm" one woud say ... maybe bad sensor or localized hot spot. you should be able to test the sensor itself with gradually hot water and a thermostat while checking the ohms resistance change in value compared to specs if OK suspect the display/alarm logic .

    did you actually remove the main hs post of the HS circuit by unscrewing it and flushing it incl the small side holes if any on your model ? careful if you unscrew it use proper fitting flat blade don't strip it . On some carbs the HS speed post side hole help to vaporize...

    your running much to fast ...water will aerate in the bucket and be hard to get pumped to cool the engine. no need to run that fast in my humble opinion it is just running out of fuel ...carbs have 2 circuits LS HS run at low speed to see it if "fuels out" if not...
