    just disconnect the starter control post wire from the switch ... if starter stops solenoid is ok and that wire is picking up +12 battery ..somewhere between the "unplugged" switch and the solenoid. the control wire may come via an interrupt switch so just work backwards to the unplugged...

    as per post #2 you may want to inspect/replace the impeller anyway and while the GC is down and out run your vinegar solution up the water tube with a small DC pump. remove the thermostat/replace cover while doing so.... and check the thermostat operation in hot water around...

    try light oil in the pump ...then apply 12volts then reverse alternate the polarity it may loosen up. you can check EMM lights (LED) to help out see book for possible conditions at KEY ON AT KEY START ENGINE RUNNING >2 seconds don't go just swapping parts ....expensive...

    the shut down may be computer controlled to save your engine (y) if the tank vent is working (try running with the cap off) check all fuel connections for air leaks with any ETEC you need to access the computer (EMM) fault log using EV Diagnostic sw. to assist in touble shooting...
