    some T&T have a upper limit switch in series with the UP button circuit to the up relay the switch cuts power to the UP relay only when the engine is raised to high leaving only the DOWN switch to work till raisedagain to the uppeer limit ..picture not clear ... if it works don't...

    if carb floats are ok then the bulb should firm up. tried another fuel hose & primer ? external fuel leaks should be evident. any chance of a fuel pump diaphragm leak ?

    agree... butt those plastic filters are better than no filters and a clogged carb 10 miles from base camp is no fun.

    you can always install a small lawn mower filter on the incoming fule line before the "empty" bowl to keep crud away from the carb

    looks good nice stop switch mod. should provide years of reliable service if you pamper it. keep it oiled 40/1 won't hurt . your an expert now.. join AOMCI !! :) btw if it runs good keep the carb kit for a rainy day. "if it works don'T fix it "

    millions of these outbards get timed this way... .020 widest gap at the high point of the lobe.... or using a buzzer, modified flashlight light bulb, a piezo buzzer whatever incl .a VOM ! your motor magneto falls in this categoty.. just time it has instructed numerous times and go...

    anything clogging orifices ,filters, hose etc... will starve it so a close inspection of all the fuel route is required. incl. fuel pump cap. !! pump the bulb and if it runs ok suspect the fuel pump

    make certain that clear fuel hose on the pump is fuel rated...regular clear tubing eventually gets rock hard and brittle

    why do you refer to the timing fixture as only able to provide approximate timing when it will do exactly what a timing light will do which is to fire the plug dead center between the timing marks. are we splitting hairs ??

    that sediment bowl is a fuel filter and needs the gasket #51 to seal the glass bowl . the filter must be carb cleaned and blown dry the spring takes practice ... search utubes . visit AOMCI ask a member site where oldies are pampered
