    I've used atf for years, no issues. It's a simple pump And doesn't get the abuse a transmission does.

    Bellows adhesive or not?

    I’ve seen a few that used weather strip adhesive, the yellow stuff. I personally don’t know if there is a difference between that and the quicksilver brand only the color? But for peace of mind I only use Quicksilver.

    If it’s loose in the gimbal housing and the gimbal ring is loose and beat up from wear. You will be able to tell when you get the pin unattached from the rest. As suggested, you will be good to have a factory manual.

    I've done this repair twice on customers boats without removing the motor. But if the seal area and steering pin need replacing, you will more than likely need to pull the motor if you have to replace the housing itself.

    I got away from Sierra years ago. A shop I worked at used mostly those parts. Customers would come back reguraly for another replacement. Boss didn't care, money for him. I moved on to a good shop and we only use Quicksilver parts. Now issues are very few!

    This was back in the mid 70’s. The ones I saw were parked in yards next to garages back then. I’d imagine nowadays with cameras everywhere it’s not as bad as it was back then?

    Some ramps are rather steep. Not much you can do except not back in as far but on some ramps you have to run it down deep.

    I've found the screws with a metal detecting pin pointer. That was on a fiberglass boat so I don't know if it would work on a tinny.

    I believe those are the electric version. If so, I've seen/replaced enough of them that I personally don't like them.

    Why would you be removing the outdrive frequently? Years ago when I lived in Minneapolis, I noticed several boats without outdrives in the area. I inquired with one guy why they were like that? He said after every outing they had to remove the drive and store it inside as it wold get stolen.

    rodent infestation

    They make.22 shells with birdshot in them. A friend of mine lived right in town and used them for a major squirrel infestation. (He ate the squirrels too) ! Nobody ever complained about hearing gunshots.
