I stated No, your current bearing should move, and part of the alignment procedure is to move the bearing with the tool

houseboats are generally a floating brick. as far as seaworthyness, consider that.
yes, any documentation is unusual. boats are still made off of sketches and a note pad. drawings rarely exist.
I would not worry about it.
Decals come off in the sun down here in Florida long before the paint goes bad.
My opinion - Most likely its the original drive that someone repainted
