first, welcome aboard second, if you were spraying water at the intake, yes, you could have ingested water. start by changing oil, run for 15 minutes, then change oil again. also do a compression test. and a water jacket pressure test

2014 4.3 liter TKS bogs after running 35 knots for 45 minutes.

    Need help/suggestions on new prop

if going to a 4 blade, adding a blade, will drop your RPM. I would drop down in pitch to bring your RPMs up. you are currently at a 3-blade, 21p. I would shoot for a 4-blade, 19p. work with your local prop shop. they may have a prop for you to try.

Need to replace Chevy 350 long block in boat

you can replace the motor from one out of a truck. however you are only using the short block and heads. being an 80's vintage, you will need to replace the steel core plugs with brass or stainless, the head gaskets with marine friendly head gaskets. then you need a marine circulating pump...

    Battery...

cant compare a car battery to a boat. a car battery is only slightly discharged, and then becomes fully charged after you drive to work every day. that is a nice slight discharge/recharge cycle that batteries like. plus most people put better quality batteries in their car A boat sits pretty...

    gimbal housing and shaft alignment

welcome aboard you need an alignment tool. as for parts, you will know what you need once you remove the drive and inspect. you may also need a coupler, as that is usually what gets destroyed with bad alignment. as for the process, its covered in the factory service manual available here...

    1989 3.0 Alpha 1 questions

Highly recommend pulling the drive and checking alignment, and replacing the impeller and bellows. Rubber parts only last a few years regardless if the boat sits or is used. A failed impeller will ruin more than a weekend

    IOS new prop

I agree with AD. you need more power with a boat load of people, or you need to have a lower pitch prop. I would recommend a 17p for when you are pulling tubes. for example, on my 3.0 powered boat, I carried 3 props. a 19p stainless, a 17p stainless and 15p stainless. the 19p was for two...

    Exhaust bellows needed.

You don't need a bellows there (no movement) You just need a rubber exhaust hose Go on ebay. Buy a high-temp 4-ply nomex and silicone turbo hose in the size you need 3" x 2.5" is a common jump size
