    Electrical problem

    not to many options... is this a new issue or the result of recent wiring mods ??? if +12v reaches the "distribution network of accessories" and the switch or switch wiring is not the problem than a short is likely. Work back from a a "powered" accessory till you find the problem...

    try some spay lubricant around joints some silicone or wd40 may loosen things up if... it is just stuck with time & grime

    What’s a good good polish ?

    yes just hand buffing .... as to tire polish I would not use the foamy spray stuff to strip dull tires of brake dust, road dust, mud etc... from fear of harsher chemicals. just mho with no experience with tire cleaners on outboard finishes.

    1983 50hp, choke to keep running.

    just fyi... been reading up on similar issues posted on utube oddly...spark plugs seems to be a contributor to "die in mid range and needs a choke burp" see one comment... Douglas Helminiak yes I did get it figured out! Something so simple, had mercury spark plugs in it and also top carb...

    I just use a regular car compound or scratch remover (in a tube) to remove stains or three sap and bird s...., then apply a few coats of quality car wax like NU-FINISH twice per season ....works for me ETEC 75hp is 2005 kicker is 1966 9.5hp

    a bad seal would allow air to infiltrate (get sucked in) the crankcase instead of precious fuel vapours being suctioned from the carb. less fuel .. less power

    did you do a blow test on the carb before reinstalling any chance the float snags on the gasket edges inside the carb....... can u describe "cleaning the carb 5 times... exactly what did you do ? did you clean out the jet orifices with a fine wire or monofilament followed by a blast...

    lucky find....:) good omen.... cracked coils frequently mean low use motors I am keeping a copy of your picture for non-believers :) Points may need just a touch up but condensers likely gone also may as well change plug wires also since you will be pulling the mag plate

    maybe heat lock up... when was impeller and water circulation looked into what about coils and all ...new stuff of old stuff with cracks..... recheck al electricals old coils all crack and check fuel oil mix ... minimum 25/1 !

    here is the answer . Also I forgot to run it dry. my two option are.... run it dry store it full of fuel and gas preservative if you have good sparks and compression I think you only have one option....clean the carb
