    BTW, its not the exhaust pipe. it would be item 29, the water outlet. and you can not get to any of it unless you remove the drive first, then the engine to get access.

    raise the cap to the ceiling rafters with ratchet straps. that way, you do the work right, and its a one person job to raise/lower the cap and it is stowed out of the way until you need it.

    there never was a boat manual you can get a manual for the motor/drive combo. you should have twins if you want a cover for a 35 year old boat, you will need to have one custom made at your local marine upholstery shop or make one your self what parts do you need. most boat parts are generic
