    4.3 in a boat is at edge of reversion stock ....forget the "tricks" that work on a car. The whole wet exhaust and constant load require you to think differently for a boat The 4.3 stock will work just fine

    once the foam is saturated with water, it is no longer unsinkable and you can not dry the foam out. weigh the boat. I can tell you that a new whaler will weigh within 5# of the spec weight as delivered dry (based on weighing tenders for use on a yacht)

    yes, this is the one measurement that is a bit more important than the other 2. this is where your leaf springs ride. if you can weld, you can weld in new spring perches

    Yes, the duratec 904 mixes with gel to make it sprayable like paint and to lay down to minimize the amount of wetsanding and buffing

    It's a 29 year old boat. Keyhole in transom is now standard. However you need a whole lot more than just a drive, you need all the bits that attache the drive to the boat. You have to remove the Yamaha motor and drive from the boat, and replace with a Mercruiser or Volvo Penta

    I would pass on anything with a Yamaha drive, or lowball so low that you can afford to buy a complete prop to pulley longtail to swap in 1994 350 with a 4 barrel is 260hp

    SeaRay branded motors in 1988 and 1989 were standard Mercruiser engines and drives, just painted white. SeaRay also did the stupid thing of putting a BBC in front of an Alpha and Mercruiser was stupid enough to listen the motors were 4.3's, 5.0's, 5.7's and 7.4's the guy with the pachanga...
