yes. if you have no water from that and the boat is in the water, then pull the drive and look at the whole water pump assembly.

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

radar is invaluable in fog or you could run over other boaters just an FYI sea lice (kayakers) do not show up on radar. nothing will pucker upholstery faster than coming out of the fog 3 miles off shore at 90mph in a poker run than coming across a group of lost kayakers

1988 Wellcraft classic 200xl small leak at the bottom on transom plate

To fuel filter or not. 3.0

the reason the 3.0 doesnt have a good fuel/water filter is that its the base engine for most boats and they had to cut costs to get the boat price down to a price point. the 3.0 needs a filter just like any other motor the fuel pump on the 3.0 is nearly identical to the fuel pump the small...

Blowby through vent tube? Mercruiser 3.7

running lean will burn a piston. could also be stuck rings, etc. I would drop a bore scope down the spark plug hole and look at the piston. I use the cheap ones you plug into your phone.

1988 Wellcraft classic 200xl small leak at the bottom on transom plate

based on the floor in your first pic, your transom is shot. boats rot in this order: Transom - starting at keel Stringers - starting at transom Floor - because the foam is soaked

Blowby through vent tube? Mercruiser 3.7

if you have 30 hours on it, the rings should have seated. however if you had any moisture in the bores, there would be corrosion which would lead to blow by. compression test and leak down test will tell you what is going on. for $4k, you could have bought a brand new 6.2 liter V8

    Exhaust boot

the tube came about in 1988/1989 when Mercruiser put Big Blocks in front of the Alpha because the extra exhaust flow would blow out the bellows. the big blocks went away because the alpha drives would go "poof" and grenade and became a big warranty champagne while the Big Blocks in front of an...

    Boat wont turn over…Safety Switch?

@j cat how could you come to this conclusion from this information since there was no movement or clunk from the starter. this would normally be dirty connections, bad key switch, bad cables, bad battery, bad starter solenoid or bad starter. all external to the motor and all diagnosable...

5.0 swap to 5.7 what carb is the best

I would do a 650cfm holley 4150 vac secondary. Volvo used to put 715 cfm carbs on the AQ271's and AQ311's I would also add a 2" carb spacer if you have the room. The extra plenum volume adds mid-range
