    i tend to think its accurate enough. even with my old AQ series, the B6' props would be 4600 RPM, so jumping to the B7's would have given me about 4200. other than the different hubs, the B6/C6 pitch and diameter is really close the the D6/F6

    a motor is an air pump. with the throttle closed, you can not get air into the to pump, therefore you cant get enough air for a compression test.

    first, pull the drive second, pull the spark plugs if it doesnt turn over, pull the motor and put it on an engine stand and find out what is stuck.

    you are most likely loosing a ground or you are loosing the grey wire at the tach. start troubleshooting.

    GM motors will strip the crank threads trying to turn them over by the bolt. Then you throw the crank away Use a crank socket If a mechanic turns a motor over by the crank bolt, go elsewhere and get a different (real) mechanic

    5.0 is heavier than a 5.7. By about 20# Both are about 150# heavier than a 4.3 Dont assume anything until you do troubleshooting And DO NOT turn a motor over by the crank bolt You either have room for a SBC V8, or you do not. 5.0, 5.7, 6.2 and 7.0 SBCs are all exact same dimensions...

    I would do a 5.7 or 6.2 vs a 5.0. Same amount of work, however the 5.7 and 6.2. The 5.0 doesnt buy much over the 4.3

    1 - not going to happen without elbow grease and most likely paint, at least not easy, that finish is oxidized badly. you could wet-sand, then buff 2 - if you get the 45 year old decal off, the gel under the decal will be a different color than the rest of the boat simply from fading over 45...

    I used laundry detergent and a scrub brush to remove stains from my sunbrella material. if its small enough, just toss in the washer. then use the waterproofing and fabric guard to re-water-proof, etc.
