    what color are the decals? Blue? that would be 1982-1983, or Brown 1984-1985. my guess is you have a 1985 since the serial numbers for 1985 start with 6611886 and go up to A196291 these exploded views may help...

    bayliner did side mount 3.0's at the same spacing / location as 4.3's so they could drop in either a 4.3 or a 3.0 into the same boats.

    By the way, the instructions shown are wrong, it says to turn counterclockwise and should read clockwise. note the location of the spring arm pivot to the idler bearing center, it can only turn clockwise to release
