    I hate to burst your bubble but I would not put that boat in the water with that current set up. You run the risk of allowing water to get in the bellow and damaging your U joints, new bearings and water in the boat. Thats a pretty good chunk of metal missing. You will need another transom shield.

    GI is the throttle body injection system. I would be nice to know how many engine hours to have as a guide, but generally that engine and that drive are robust and reliable, always depending on how well it`s been cared for over the years.

    New Engine - No spark

    Make sure that when you dropped the distributor in that the teeth align exactly where they need to be, very easy to miss it by a few teeth. Also, make sure your #1 is at TDC compression stroke. Use a pressure gage to confirm. Make sure all sensors that feed the ECM are plugged in and are working.

    Pull your distributor cap and look underneath at the contacts of it and the rotor. They go bad quickly.

    Confirm the liquid in the bellows, if water, change the bellow. if that is indeed white grease that is the wrong type of grease. Use OMC Tripple guard grease only. It is blue in color. Replace the O ring around the water passage.
