    Check your shift linkage on the drive just to make sure that you are getting proper cable travel and actuator movement. Make any adjustments if you can.

    Has anyone ever tried a product such as Evapo-Rust and let it sit in the block for a few days? I`ve used it on other items and have been fairly pleased with how it converts rust. It`s very fluid, not a thick paste and would flush easily without clogging small passages.

    Replacing my brake lines with rubber lines

    Replace the hard lines with flexible ones and just zip tie to frame or you could screw mount them in. If you dip in salt, any newly drilled holes could speed up the corrosion rate.

    It will immediately start rusting again as soon as you de-rust it. Unless you plan on doing it frequently, you may not be gaining a whole lot. I am not aware of any coating that you can put in there that would last.

    What engine? How many hours? Fuel pumps may be getting clogged from internal peeling paint but need a little more information to properly help.

    You can find it on Amazon or Ebay if you do not have a dealer nearby. I use Amsoil bought directly from them. The oil pump is also available on Amazon. Get the one with the screw in filler plug, not the plastic cone shaped one.

    Based on the location I would guess a shifter seal is bad. Remove that plastic cover and you should be able to get a better view and confirm.

    You may have a bad/rotten transom that is flexing under forward thrust if tightening the loose nuts did not help. However it is possible that the rubber transom seal is bad and needs to be replaced.

    After a complete diagnosis, if an engine overhaul or replacement is due I would just consider a remanufactured/rebuilt engine for around 5k and do it myself or pay someone to do it. $17K seems a little steep, at least where I live.

    You might try something like a curved dental pick taped to a dowel rod. Reach it up in there and try to break up any old grease. An occasional spray of brake fluid to further break things up and flush it out.

    What color is the correct one to repaint my SX-M?

    There is Volvo Silver and Volvo Gray. They are both very close in hue, with the silver being a little shinier. Your original color is probably gray but you could do either and get by.

    Volvo Penta raw water nipple removal question.

    I had my pivot housing removes when I removed mine but I think you may be able to access it from underneath with the trim extended and the drive up. Remember to put some underwater grease on the threads of the new one to make it easier to remove next time.
