Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

I am at the stage of pouring foam . Just finished putting the screw holes. Need to get clear solo cups tomorrow for the foam. Still need to finish the bilge after the 2 layers of 1.5oz chop strand mat. I will put a vinyl floor in. After lots of thought , Gel coat and sand would be harder on...

Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

Well I am not a Craftsman as many of you are , But I am learning. I have to say that working with 1708 is like day and night as opposed to 1800. I like 1708. The only fiber glassing left , except the floor , is the bilge and engine mounts. I am wrapping 3 layers of 1708 around the stringer and...

    Alpha 1 gen 2 Studs

I have an Alpha 1 gen 2 bell housing and gimbal . I am sure it was not original on my boat . The boat has 8 holes in the transom. The gimbal has 6 studs. My question is should I order the other 2 studs for the unit , or just install it as is.

Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

I have a quart of epoxy primer . Would I be able to use that on my laminating resin transom as is? Or would I have to use PVA first , wash off and prime? I was thinking to paint the transom and put back my gimbal housing . After I finish my engine mounts .

Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

I figured that it was not needed. In my original motor mounts , there was just 2 pieces of 3/4 plywood and all open underneath. The 1 inch ply PB'd to the stringer should carry the bulk of the engine weight.

Advice on transom , stringers and floor rebuild

Working on the engine mounts. I have laminated 3-2x6 on the flat with 3/4 inch plywood on top. I was going PB to stringer and notch in the side and use a 3/4 plywood to the hull and one glued with PB to the stringer under the mount. Then wrap in 1708. Would I create any hard spot with the...
