    Most Chevy V8s and V6s have block drain plugs on each side below Exhaust Manifolds. Get a mirror, light and look! They maybe 3/8 NPT or have bleed-valves.

    The day that you buy a boat with an OD is the first day of constant maintenance, wasted money and regrets. And, if is salt water used, more maintenance. Or, you can spend 30K on a new 300HP Yamie and have less headaches for a few years. Get yourself a good manual and lots of tools! Trust me.

    Mine almost sunk because of that pool design. MC must have realized that crappy design too, because they changed design. I'm not telling anyone what to do. Perhaps if they had used a special SS bolt instead of aluminum??? I am not an engineer, but I cannot tread water long. LOL

    What year is motor/boat/OD model? There is a tool you can buy and use but I do it the old fashion way. Pull plug. Attach plug wire to it and ground plug to block. Fire up motor see if you get spark. Of course have muffs on and a fire extinguisher near you.

    Did you replace the OLD plug wires??? Gas leak could be going into oil pan or carb, as it is supposed to do per CG regulations, from leaky fuel pump. Examine oil and smell for gas. Look down carb air-horn and rev motor and watch for excessive gas. Been there too!
