I figured that the torque spec was a bit "ball park" as it goes ....you torque the nut to spec and then either lean on it some more or back it off so the pin hole in the shaft lines up with the slots in the nut .
I cant see the point in using a torque wrench , just tweek it up to the point...
I dunno what that means Joe ๐
I did try to post pix a while ago that I was told were to big so I give up , but later on after I found out I could crop pix I give that a go and it seemed to reduce the size far more than I expected ...like about a reduction from over 5mb to under 3mb but I only...
I recently did up a Tohatsu M18d ....it got new everything except the cover and casings . I stripped all the paint off it as the previous owner ( my brother in law ...one of them ...she has 8 brothers ) had brushed on house paint .
Having learnt ...way to slowly ..about the prep thing this time...
I guess it sorta depends on the circumstances......you say "a local welder" , was this job done as a "not really our thing but we will have a go" at a cheap price or did they charge you full whack ?
If it was the former then Id be prepared to let them patch it up as best as practical, but if...
The bit I dont get ......wouldnt you stop welding when you saw the distortion starting , I mean it didnt suddenly boing outa shape after the job was finished .
I believe thats a replacement panel job .....not fixable .๐
Servicing the gear case and water pump is not hard or very technical . I guess it might seem like open heart surgery..... removing the gear case an all, but its pretty straight forward and there are heaps of vids showing how to do it , and basic tools will do it .
If you get a service manual it...
Yeah I like the crispy skin ....just never thought of givin the tail a sizzle....but I will , just that I usually chop the tail off to fit it in the pan ( flounder is probly the only fish I cook whole ...mostly fillet everything else )๐๐
Yep ,my neighbour is building a log splitter and needed a 33mm drill to go thru ยฝ inch steel plate ....43 bucks off ali ex and 180 bucks locally . Cheap one did the job and still looks new . Works for me ( mostly coz he used my drill press ๐)
It is a sacrificial anode and also counteracts the torque steer of the prop....which is why its is adjustable ...for different props and installations on different boats .
Sacrificial anodes dont work if you insulate ( paint ) them
Yeah , I have found myself thinking several times " I hope Im doing as well as that guy when I get to his age" and with that in mind I have been eating less and doing more physical stuff. My goal this winter is to be able to walk 1km on my tin leg without needing crutches .....I can get 400m...
Cant you adjust the brake light switch so it needs a bit more pedal travel to trip the switch . There are in line pressure switches too ...if you want to go that way ....possibly ( depending on local regulations ) with an adjustable cracking pressure.
Pork rib eye , I cheated and got it at the butcher, salad , mostly from local gardens....(we swap stuff), and twice baked potato, from the compost heap (๐I havnt told her yet ๐๐)
