MerCruiser 140 (’68–’82) choke tube missing – alternative or electric choke conversion?

Don't know of anyone who has made one but most have been replaced with electric. Otherwise I would look at brake/fuel line and flare fittings

    any roofers here?

Another issue with metal if you have snow or ice, it can slide off and kill someone. If you use metal put things up there to keep things from sliding off

    any roofers here?

Roofed so many roofs I lost count, never as a roofer, just a bunch of guys getting together for each other to get it done. Most asphalt but also metal, no metal shingles A metal roof will last 50+ years and the issue is most folks doing a reroof are over 50. Being over 50 the average 40 year...

    Filling Tractor Tires with Methanol

My first make up worked pretty good with first tire. After doing first I realized I was over thinking it. The initial Y valve was to watch when pressure increased so I could stop and open upper valve to bleed air and liquid back to barrel. This worked pretty well but was really not needed, the...

    Filling Tractor Tires with Methanol

Last couple time out pulling the Batwing I noticed the tractor would slip a bit. First I thought it was just because it had been so dry. We had some rain and things greened up but still noticed the slip every now and then on steep climbs. Stopped on the level and had the valve stem at 1 o'****...

    Loss of power to trim

Use a voltmeter and measure power to see if power is on both sides of the fuse. It comes from the starter to the fuse, then to the pump relays

    Anchor windless relay always on.

Doesn't sound right to me. My Formula had a switch to turn on main relay for winch, only then could it be used. My Chaparral does not have a main relay, just switches that energize the relays that control the winch, but while power is available nothing is drawing current.

Engine backfiring through throttle body when trying to accelerate

Folks talked about E10 so many times here, but in short, E10 will make it thru the winter. Don't keep the tank full unless your someone which runs several tanks thru the season, the amount of moisture taken in is not enough to worry about. @tpenfield has run test thru the winter and came up...

Engine backfiring through throttle body when trying to accelerate

Look around in your area for places that take used oil, most will also take some gas in the mix. Places like Autozone, O'Reillys, Advance are local and might also look for commercial places like Crystal Clean, Safety-Kleen, Valicor, and GFL Environmental Get a cheap 12V pump and connect to tank...

2004 Volvo Penta 5.0GL-E with SX-M outdrive leaking through exhaust into bilge

Don't of any I would say that to, but look close at the plugs and wires. Check contacts on the starter to see if they are real clean. Being a Holly carb it would be real easy now to remove the bowl and see if there is any crud in it
