    Milky oil

I would pressure test the block and heads to make sure they are not cracked if they are you know is exhaust or other water source. you will need to change multiple times to get the water out of the oil. Issue will be if exhaust is still leaking water back in it’s not going to get you anywhere

    Air Trapped in Outdrive...

There will be some air in top of the outdrive which Is no issue when the drive is turning the lube will get splashed everywhere. i pump from bottom of drive until it starts to show level in the reservoir. Then top it off from the bottle. Usually it will drop a tad after a use or two assume air...

Anyone have an updated opinion about SEI Marine bellows? (Bravo 3)

The way I have seen oem bellows last on my two boats I wouldn’t mess with anything else than oem. The kit is only part of the cost. Y 2004 boat they were just starting to get stuff and crack after 18 years, still water tight on the driveshaft and shift bellows. Exhaust had previously split but...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

I think you and I are the only two sticking with IOs. For lake boating I just can give up the swim platform. my good friend bought a 4Winns freedom H1 this spring. Was a left over 2025 zero hours. The dealer commented this was one of only two bow riders they sold this year . Only selling PWCs...

2001 Volvo Penta 5.0 GL cracked block

It’s about $2000 -2500 more now For the base engine, $3600 more for the partial engine. Back then the difference between a reman and new base engine was not enough to bother with the reman. I think the 5.0 and 5.7 new base engines were like $3400. I pd $5 k delivered for a 5.0 partial engine/...

2001 Volvo Penta 5.0 GL cracked block

You can try cleaning the crack and goobering it with jb, run it a few times and see if you get water in the oil. Some here have posted good results with jb on an external crack. If internal sooner or later water will fill the crank case. if you are going to keep it as other have said get a 5.7...

Aftermarket coils, don’t match OEM specs like you might expect.

What’s the primary resistance? that is a much tighter ohm spec but I thought generally 8-12 k ohms on secondary was a decent rule of thumb. Be interested to run them and test with a spark gap tester To see where the rubber meets the road. I have original coils for my 65 gto , came with the car...

    Replaced engine now no spark

Check for 12 v at the cannon plug where the engine harness connects to the boat harness . sometimes the pins don’t make great contact and you have to open the male pin some to get contact. This plugs would have been disconnected to re,over the engine and thus was disturbed

    Replaced engine now no spark

this is the sticky on TBV trouble shooting - if you arent getting 12 v on the purple wire on the positive side of the coil, you need to trace it back from the ignition switch with a volt meter- also disconnect the shift interrupt switch to ensure it isnt killing the spark

    Ethanol!

I was looking at getting a good sized zero turn like that as well. I was dead set against it until I bought a cheap battery powered leaf blower and weed wacker (eGo $180-200) off amazon. The weedwacker can reverse the head to power wind the string on. They share the same battery which seems to...

Questions about the set up of a Holley 4160 on a 4.3 V6

I ran my 3.0 without a working choke for years in upstate ny With no issue. Just stab the throttle a few times to get some gas in there and leave it at a fast idle. Took more time to warm up/ idle decent in October for sure but not needed given the issues setting up this carb the last time, get...

Used Glastron GX 205 with engine issues

This! My buddies similar vintage Glastron had a rotten transom due to Glastron mounting the swim ladder on the transom right at the water line. i was surprised how little effort Glastron made tabbing in the transom wood, **** poor construction. Jasper seems hit or miss. I bought a new base...

    Ethanol!

Like you I run ethanol fuel and have few issues. Just due to convenience filling up I run ethanol free in the boat and generally e10 in the jetski. Have yet to a have fuel related issue with either But the fuel doesn’t hang around long, I only use stabil when going into winter storage. given...

    non alcoholic beer

Most of the issue with a lot of import beers in the US is the age of the beer - you are tasting staling flavors and oxidation. The shelf life put on most of those beers is a year plus and they will all taste like chit.

    My block is drained, right?

    non alcoholic beer

In Germany very common to mix sprite with helles (standard German lager) it’s called a Radler. Which basically means one who rides his bike so meant to keep your whits about you. I was put off by it until I tried it Actually quite refreshing. Some of the other mixes like cola and wheat beer are...
