I would pull the bolt out that goes into the valve cover and undo at carb..should come free I believe

I figured it out...however now I have no dash lights or blower lol...nightmare

Picture one is...bat 1 to post 1 on switch. Bat 2..on bat..2 on switch...common has one directly to starter and 1 cable to left side of solinoid...when I turn it to bat 1 it cranks over..with out key. What in the heck have I done wrong

Still not grasping were the 12v positive from battery to soliniod goes. From common to positive on soliniod?

Nothing I have read says anything about it

Does the switch go before the starter soliniod or after...not sure

Good day..installing a switch that has off , 1..2..and both..little confused on what goes to the common post. Was mentioned just the starter wire how ever a vidio I watched showed all the positive leads. Any help appreciated

It was connected yes. It never goes dead when sitting if that makes a difference

I have 12.5 v at battery with engine running...test leads on alternator...one ground..one power post...jumps all over with random voltage up to 16...down to .2...all over

I will run boat on muffs today and check with volt meter. I did notice lastnight that my power wire at starter is loose. However it's the stud that's loose not the connection.

Follow up...changed all terminal ends..cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more on all connections. Everything ran great all day until end..mostly moved from one fishing spot to another..noticed fuel gauge was pinned full...and then boat would start then stall...I took leads off alt and...

After digging around there was two bad ground connections. Loose in the terminal ends..thanks

I will add this. I installed a new windlass 700 if that makes a difference. Here's pic of amp meter

Goodmorning. Took boat out for first run of the season. Everything was going great and all of a sudden my temp gauge stopped and shortly after boat started running rough..started being hard to start like real slow cranking. Found red wire from 40 amp breaker to bat was melted..I changed it...
