Dead battery after sitting on trailer

I should modify what I suggested. You do not need a switch on the dash. As suggested, a battery selector switch is the best option. See attached. If you want to go one step further, An indicator light that you have power from the batteries. I do not mean an indicator that the ignition is on, an...

No power to new Kenwood stereo reciever

The drawback is that if you use the radio you will have to reset the memory stations every time. I'm going to add a seperate manual lighted switch that will function like an accessory (ACC) function. I turn it ON to use the radio and OFF when I'm not. I WILL leave the yellow wire connected to...

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

A way to aviod that is to install a lighted switch. That way you should notice that the panel lights are on even the daytime. I'm going to do that for a radio so I don't drain my battery. I will add the title of the post here once I add it.

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

I recharge batteries all the time using an automatic charger. It drops the amps as the battery charges. It also has a "recondition mode" that I run on the batteries a couple of times a year. Many auto parts shops will test your battery to see if it is worth keeping but you have to charge it first.

I'll go through the bleed and adjustment procedure. Thanks . How can I test that the brakes are working ?? I'm not sure that I would be able to tell the difference with the brake line disconnected. Should it be real obvious?

How do I Stop Loosing Bearing Buddys??

I'm not sure what you are showing here. The outer hose clamp is on the BB. Is the inner clamp on the hub. Do you connect then together somehow? Mine did go in pretty tight using a heavy hammer and a block of wood. Of courst tapping gently at first to get it started square.

What was Causing this Clunking Sound? Binding Brakes?

Boaters, I took my 20 ft Four Winns to the gas station (along with a a few diamonds to barter) and noticed a clunking sound. I had a friend drive it slowly as I walked along side. The sound was coming from the left side and did not seem to match the tire rotation but that was hard to tell. I...

Where Do I Get Marine Quality Non-Slip Strips?

Thanks. I did just paint the fenders. I prepped with a wire brush on a drill and used Rustolium from a spray can. See picture. This was primarily just to stop the rust. It was not intended to look like a pro paint job. What do you think about the peel and stick adhesive that is already on the...

How do I Stop Loosing Bearing Buddys??

I put the dimples in the Bearing Buddy right, not in the hub? And that puts a dimple but there is also raised metal around the edge of the dimple and the raised material makes for a tight fit as the BB goes into the hub. Is that right?

How do I Stop Loosing Bearing Buddys??

I've got Bearing Buddys in my double axle trailer. I've already lost a couple and I just saw that another one is missing!! I've read that removing and replacing them can expand the axle (hub?) and result in a loose fit and having the Bearing Buddys fall off. What can I do to prevent that?

Are Four Winns know to have strong hulls? Installing a tower

Update: I did add the tower. I put 4 x 6 backing using 1/2 in thick plywood under each corner. I attached them with industrial adhesive. The tower is rock solid!! but can be easily folded down to go under low bridges.
