    Extra Bilge Pump

An exercise in futility…. A portable bilge pump is not going to keep with a hull breech. If push comes to shove, time would be better spent sending a DSC and preparing the crew to abandon ship.

Hoses get "stiff", lose plasticity as the result of prolonged exposure ultraviolet rays (sunlight) and atmospheric ozone breaking down the polymer chains in the rubber, causing it to dry out and stiffen. The life expectancy of a neoprene rubber hose used in fuel delivery service is 10-15...

    Building a fishing boat.

Night vision cameras have been around for years. Same technolgy as a trail camera and “ring” door bell cameras. Night vision goggles start @ $100 and go up from there. A pan and tilt unit for marine use that plugs into your chart plotter runs roughly the same as a radar dome

    Ohm specs

Ohm testing a coil isn't a reliable means to measure the performance of a coil. I've had more bad coils test good more time than I can count. The only true measure of performance is to test the output with a spark tester.

    downrigger cable & radio question

A bad cable connection doesn’t discriminate between radio checks and broadcast messages. Having said that, VHF is line of sight communications. If you can’t see the broadcast antenna, you can’t hear broadcast. On a typical day, you’re not going to hear anything that more than 3-4 miles away...
