    the fastest will be to swap the AVS for the 1409 as it sits. read the plugs. from there loose the one thinner spacer. I wouldnt worry about a wedge spacer unless it bothers you.

    I would run a longer keel guard, especially if you plan on beaching the boat...ever. I suggest at least 8 feet based on your pics. just aft of the keel roller on the trailer, then adjust the keel roller I ran a 10' on my 19 foot searay because I did pull up onto the sandbar

    From what I can find for a 1973 Gibson 36' with the chrysler diesel, the max RPM of the motor is 3600 RPM and it puts out 73hp.

    being a tinny, the job is easier. floor can be 1/2, 5/8, or 3/4. do not use pressure treated. ACX or marine ply. I would coat with the old-timers formula (just use the search function). looks like all the wood is gone, so definitely replace the transom wood as evidenced by the brown streaks...

    It's a houseboat. They move at displacement speed. They move the same speed with 50hp as they do 500 hp When you serviced the raw water pump, did you find all the missing pieces from the impeller?

    go in from the back side where the terminals are snapped into the plastic bit. you need access from both sides, you also need a small pick or small jewelers screw driver to release the tang to pull the terminals out.
