    FULL POWER TILT PUMP

Not familiar with outdrives at all, but on outboards, if they get too low on fluid, they get air in the system. To get air out and allow room for more oil, you fill it up, tilt up/down several times and then add more fluid. You just keep doing this until it's working smoothly and there is no...

    Mercury 25 HP Tiller

I'd return it to whoever worked on it. Sounds like you spent a ton of money for someone to tear up your motor. What year is it? Why did the mechanic think it needed all those parts? Why did he let it leave his shop in that non-running condition? I'd get some/all of my money back and take it...

    Broken low speed needle

Sorry, you guys called it correctly. I've never heard of the tip of a mixture adjusting needle breaking off. I assumed it was frozen up and broke off flush or inside the carb. Good call guys, as always.

    Broken low speed needle

It's threaded guys. How do you tap it out? I'd take a nail or another screw that's about half the diameter as the adjusting screw and put crazy glue on it and hold it in place for a couple of minutes and see if you can screw it out with the adjusting needle on the end of it.

    Care to guess tire size?

If you've got a buddy with a wrecker, they have heavy duty dolly wheels on their wreckers that you can jack up each side of the trailer and place the bad wheels/tires on them and then strap them down for towing. You might be able to rent them from somewhere.

    1999 75hp Fuel Prime Issue

If you cleaned the carbs and cleared out some blockages or trash inside, it's expected that you may have improved fuel delivery and that would require some adjustmets. Often the mixture screws are used to adjust for little issues inside the carbs.

    Merc 75 4 cylinders, 2 carbs

I've had great success finding old outboard manuals at my public library. It's pretty cool finding among all of those books a section of greasy, oil soaked car and boat repair manuals mixed in with all the others. I have very frequently found a repair manual for what I was working on and just...

    fuel problem

Exhaust line? Not sure what you're talking about. When you pump the primer bulb, does water leak out of the front of the carburetor? If so, you have a needle/seat problem in the carb. Check your plugs to see if one is saturated with fuel after running, if so, you have an ignition problem and...

Trim and Tilt Relays click but do not operate the motor

When you bypassed the switches/relays, did you run the ground wire from the battery to the motor, or where did you connect it? I wonder if the ground wire from the motor is broken or not a good connection. It's a small wire and on many outboards it's simply bolted to the mounting bracket...

    Mercruiser 3.0 12" and 14" flywheel interchangeable

If you've got the starter mount that will work, then you're good. Reminds me of my "hot rod" days! We frequently shaved heads, bored blocks for oversized pistons, and did other things to increase compression. When we did this, we either had to purchase a very high priced heavy duty starter...

    Clutch Hydraulics, 1989 GMC C1500

I usually get a piece of host that fits over the bleeder and stick it on the bleeder and the other end in a container of brake fluid. You loosen the bleeder and just pump the petal until it no longer creates bubbles in the container. With a long enough hose, you can do it solo! That's the...

    2008 Yamaha P90TXR block

My son had a very similar situation on his 2004 90HP Yamaha. His mechanic at a local boat repair shop built it up and machined it down and it's working great now. The stuff he used is called "Belzona 1111". My son actually had corrosion on the exhaust cover and had water leaking into a...

14 AWG wire in between switch and device smaller wire

What are you powering? If it's just lights, gauges, and stuff, you should be fine. If is's a bait well and/or bilge pump, check the item to see what gauge wires come out of it and don't go lower.

Starter Solenoid On 2002 Johnson 40HP 4 Stroke

In the "good ol' day" when I was wrenching on old hot rods, you could actually take a soleoid apart. Basically there was a flat disc inside and the soleoid slid that disc in place to make contact between the two large contacts to send voltage to the starter. We would simply take that disc...

Starter does not engage. (Need Advice)

Your starter solenoid has 4 terminals. Two big ones and two small ones, right? One of the big ones should have 12v at all times, also one of the small ones should have 12v at all times. Have someone hold the ignition switch in the "start" position and check for 12v at the other small terminal...
