    Transom Sealant

Hey guys. I have dad's transom plate off his Yamaha SUV 1200 waverunner. I have to re affix the plate to the hull with some sort of sealant and was just wondering if anyone knew what to use. It seems like Yamaha just used a regular white silicone of sorts. I was figuring either that or life seal...

Again... not my finest work, but not too bad either.

    Boats from work.

In the sense that they cut the same corners that all the "higher end" consumer models do. Better than most for sure but I don't think that is a 200k boat by any stretch of the imagination is all I'm really saying. Their outward fit and finish is probably about the best in the mass market...

    Boats from work.

I've always said cobalt just built a boat that looked pretty and nothing else. This isn't exactly helping convince me otherwise...

New boat owners leaving the hobby

My family does pools, that's usually one of the first to go as well. New construction anyway.

    Prop Selection - Bayliner 175

Don't push the throttle that hard and you should be fine. If you have a cooler drier air temp when you tested, this will change your WOT RPM as well. At 60F I get 200 rpm more than at 80 and also get 1.5 more MPH. That is enough for me to kiss the rev limiter in the cold (well... cool. 60 is...

Happen to have any pictures of the drive? That's a hell of a hit.

They're not affixed to the backers yet, but they're respectable for a guy who has no idea what he's doing. (Yes I know the corners are a little wacky.)

New boat owners leaving the hobby

For me it was actually the opposite. Most of my childhood (5~14 years old) dad worked 7 days a week and I didn't get to spend the time with him. Now (29) I do everything in my power to spend every waking minute on or at the boat with him. Don't get me wrong, it was a huge part of my childhood...

Did some cutting. The OE wood was half so I just replaced what was there. I'll probably spar varnish the underside for good measure too. I'll start taking care of the cushions after work at night so I can check something off the list.

New boat owners leaving the hobby

So long as I set everything up in the staging lanes (like you're supposed to) It's maybe 2 minutes between truck hitting the water and pulling out when solo? I'm usually gone before the three guys in front of me even have their boat running up at the lake but I just push off dad and he circles...

New boat owners leaving the hobby

It honestly doesn't surprise me. Now I just need suntex and freedom to go belly up (or at least to take a massive hit and get out of the area) and everything will be much better.

    Boat cushions

My working relationship with my upholstery guy is I get him stuff or do some minor work he needs and he takes care of me. Long standing family friend and does a lot of OE work too. Yes, I'm lucky. Quality work is hard to find.

The bottom that my butt would be on laying in the birth. What the cushion would be attached to. As far as everything else, yea. The trim I found some leads. It's a pretty standard taylor frame that would be found on most anything from the mid 70s to the 90s. So I'll continue digging. And yes...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I've got my machine dialed in on a few test passes. The polyester thread feeds nicely compared to the nylon. It's definitely the thickest I'd go on a home machine though. I'm also contemplating plywood... I have half and 3/4 for the bottom panels of the birth. Seems half inch is more than...

    1998 Alpha 1 Gen 2 Gear Ratio (Serial# OL113587)

24-24 (in the top housing under the cap) would indicate 1.61 on an alpha. However I do believe the 24-24 was also used with another lower gearset to achieve a 2.0 ratio....

    Ideas for using scrap fiberglass.

I did the same (minus the beer) and used it for bedding my deck in my boat. I ran out of milled fibers. So far so good.
