Does the intake have 8 or 12 bolts? It looks like older iron center bolt heads with 12 intake bolts. (could even be the old 305 heads depending on years) obviously as said the base is a late roller truck block.
If memory serves, GM offered a SP350/ zz4 "short block" which wouldn't have had...
What he said. The acid doesn't easily evaporate but the water content does. All you're doing is adding the water back. Think like making those salt crystals in elementary school. It's a similar concept.
Anyone ever try the dual grind attachments for the grinders? Usually I'm running through a pretty fine plate to begin with and normally doing chicken so the dual grind isn't necessary. But it's needed with proper pork imo. Except bratwurst.
May have found a glazing that'll work. Ordered a foot section to try. Dimensions look close enough.
Also I broke the H channel that joins the two pieces of glass together. Sounds simple enough. Found a windshield and part number that uses it and Taylor had no idea what I was talking about and...
So I got brave today and pulled the Starboard side windshield track cover. No breakage but uh... I've never seen one like this. Not saying it may not have been uncommon back in the day but I showed dad as this is the vintage he cut his teeth on and he said the same thing... it usually popped in...
One of the better "cheap" jacks I've used. (The daytona.)
The regular 3 ton is low enough to get under the corvette. It doesn't leak down with a load and the release is actually linear compared to some "nice" US made name brands I've had. (which coincidentally usually failed at those same...
Marine grind cam, ~9:1 compression on a 115 lsa and peaks around 5000 rpm... it was supposed to go in a boat and ended up in the vette. Does 300+ lb-ft from 1900 rpm onward. Only thing I don't remember about it is if I left the marine headgasket in it or not which I'd be checking/changing...
I think it's more I'd be near the limits of the hull design at those speeds more so than too much power. Remember, I'm coming from a 3.0l pushing this thing around. She scoots just fine now. And I don't really want the stern sitting any lower than it already does. And of course I would have to...
When I did my rebuild I left the mounts 4.3 sized for a reason lol. It's more than adequate for the hull. A 5.7 would be too much imo. Even though it was offered with the 350 mag back in 84.
True. Though my cruise is ~3300 RPM and 33 MPH already. That's a comfortable speed. The top end just feels choked. It freight trains up to 4000 then noses over.
I actually have part 16 on my work bench lol. I didn't feel like fabricating a throttle bracket.
From everything I have found, the 190 and 225 and EFI all use the same grind cam per the merc parts book so in theory, slightly better flow may equal a couple more ponies? (Being optimistic)...
So I did some checking today. It would seem I am quite close to coil bind with stock valvetrain. I have to swing the engine out in a few weeks to figure out where my leak is. I may toss it on the stand and better measure out everything. Might be able to use the beehives and offset keepers I have...
What they said. I stick with flooded... they last long enough though AGM can tolerate poor charging habits better.
The LiFePO4 batteries are inherently safe. Have I seen them melt down? Yes. Was it caused by absolute abuse a normal application should never see? Yeah. Would anything else in...
