Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

That appears to be poor materials choice and workmanship from the factory. There are so many 20+ year old boats that look better. Big project, good luck. I wish I had that skill set, opens up more potential boats to purchase.

Axius repair on used boat Cobalt 303

The Axius system requires dealer programming to set up. This is unlikely to be a user repair without dealer involvement.

    Revolution 4 XP prop

I made mistype in my post above but it won’t let me correct it. The Racing versions of the XP come in 1/2” increments in certain ranges, and 1” increments in other ranges to let you really dial in the pitch, that is the only major difference in them. In addition, they do offer a lab finish which...

    Revolution 4 XP prop

So the XP versions are really about the added pitch options. Merc racing works the standard pitches and provides the even number pitch to really fine tune the rpm achieved. That is the key difference.

    What oil to use?

Look at the spec for the oil required by Yamaha. Buy any brand that meets or exceeds that spec. It will be fine.

Mercruiser 6.2l 300 (2018) fuel oil mixture prior to winterization?

Merc recommendation is a cocktail of gas, stabilizer and 2 cycle oil in a small tank, and run on that. I believe around the lines of 5 gallon gas, stabilizer per instructions, and 16 oz of oil. I usually do not fog it just for a winters rest. But the other suggestion to just put some 2 stoke...

Don S Winterization link not working

If you are doing thing 100%, yes, removed each season. But honestly, at our marina here in Pa with fresh water, boats don’t have the drives pulled for years, some decades. Most here only pull them once an issue arises. So should you -yep, but I bet most do not based on my local experience.

    The newest outboard from Mercury

Yeah, this has been out for some time now. Formula, Boston Whaler, Sea Ray and others all using them. Even Bennington has a pontoon with it.

Marina Bay Shore depot - SCAM???

Close friend of mine ”bought” a classic car from one of these scammers before he consulted any of his friends. They took him for $15k. Anyone selling anything major that won’t let you come see it, SCAM, every time.

    Youghiogheny River Lake in Pa.

So there are 3 lakes in the area, Cheat lake, Yough Reservoir, and Deep Creek Lake. They are all about an hour apart or so. I have boated all of them. Here is the first thing, on a nice summer weekend, all will be packed, boats everywhere, and rough water. Just the way it is. Deep Creek has the...

    Water in gear oil

That looks fine to me actually. Is it always like that, or is this the first time. Condensation in the gear case can cause that. Fill it with fresh, and check it again later after some use.

Actual Lewmar brand. Never tried a knock off as the lewmar brand isn’t too expensive.

    Anchor Upgrade...need Real World Reviews

Our area is mud and grass. As mentioned, a fluke needs reversed on to set it. I had terrible luck with my fortress, just would never hold, always sliding along. Went to a 14 pound delta plow type, holds every time even with short rode. 29’ 6000 lb boat for reference.

    Mercruiser 8.2 w/Cats & Closed Cooling Question

The Merc is half cooled, so it is sea water heading through the exhaust and cats as you describe. The exhaust in saltwater is a 5 year ish replacement expense, just part of ownership. The cats appear to last a bit longer, but could need replaced as well. Freshwater the stuff lasts 15 plus years...

There is a reason those are low cost compared to others. Time to replace it.

B3 vs B1 for twin on 30' bow rider

If set up correctly the b1 will be faster at top end, and have less propensity for corrosion. However, boats spend about 5% of their time at top speed. I would stick with the b3 for greater grip, better low speed control, etc.

    Marine plywood edging (cabinetry)

Definitely not marine plywood for cabinetry. Birch, maple, cherry, one of those. To keep it simple, there are wood edging tapes made of real wood with adhesive backing that you can use an old iron to apply. That would be the simplest.

Does ACR exist to charge start battery bank only if the volts drop below 12.45?
