    It’s free to swap the solenoids, if the problem follows then the solenoid, if not, most likely the trim limit. Alternately, you can get that solenoid for $20 at any auto parts store.

    that happens from overfilled oil. So it might have still been overfilled, or the level went up while running from water or fuel intrusion.

    It has been used by Mercury for over 15 years now - it is proven. Get it, it is not jumpy, it is silky smooth. I had it several boats ago for the first time and will never go back to mechanical controls. Third boat now with it and it is perfect.
