M15D2 Excess Fuel in Lower Cylinder

very strange! i say that because at idle, its not drawing ANY fuel from the main. that kicks in around 1800 rpm or so. all a larger hole would do is make it stall/bog when you gave it some throttle. the excess fuel problem must be from a bad needle/seat or improper float height. literally the...

    Evinrude Mount Assy needed 5007470

you can pin the lower mounts easily by drilling 2 holes strait through them vertically, then wedging 2 7/16 or 1/2'' stainless pins to stop them from wiggling. its very advisable to do the top mount this way as well, however but will really stiffen em' up and help handling, especially the lowers...

No fuel being drawn into lower cylinder Johnson 7.5hp

just gently poke the reeds with a pencil. they should move easily. if not carb cleaner and a slightly manlier poke should get em moving. slow speed needle... if its in too far (lean) will cause issues. start with 1.5 turns gently seated. fyi your gauge is probably reading low. i believe these...

1987 johson 225 hp power issues

1st gotta figure out if its fuel or ignition. did you try hitting the primer when it surges? pumping the bulb? if it smooths out you know its fuel. If it does nothing then slows down, its ignition. you will need a DVA adapter for your meter to read primary voltage going to coil from pack. if...

Suzuki DT200 rev limiter at 2000

did you just show us a pic of the compression at 75 psi?? are all cylinders like that or just 1 or 2? if so, that motor must make atleast 95psi to run correctly! very very common issue with these early DT v6 motors was water intrusion in the bottom cylinders. this happens either through lower...

    1978 Evinrude 70HP- Trouble starting/idling/bogging under load

there are 2 main units: early model and 1991-up fastrak. 115hp and 120hp were made for many years and completely different motors, but 1991-up took fastrak and 1978-1990 had the older style. does your trim unit have 1 big pin at the bottom, or 3 bolts each side? yours is the 3 bolt one

Old motors DEMAND to be retired when they are 65 years old..

the later 1997-1999 Force motors were awesome. Ditto for most of the older Chrysler . Notice the demographic they were sold to though: mostly clueless new boat owners. any 2 stroke enthusiast can keep them running just as long as any other brand.

    1978 Evinrude 70HP- Trouble starting/idling/bogging under load

the alarm should sound around 196-210f with the solid tan temp wire. the later blue striped ones are closed around 240f. if it closed at 140-150f, you'd be driving around with a constant alarm!

outboard won't stay idling or rev up

these carbs with the plastic idle circuit covers on top were designed to be able to clear out the delicate idle circuit very easily. you will see a hole underneath that connects to the idle pickup tube (tiny tube inside the large one for high speed). use a syringe with alcohol or can of carb...
