Which 'aluminum acid wash' to use inside hull - restoration

I've also seen bleach recommended , its 5% chlorine I think , but I know pool chlorine is 14% which would for sure do the trick but you would need the special mask that could handle the gas to work with it.

1974 R-1 140 Outdrive Shift Cable and Kill Switch Adjustment

I have the same problem with my 73 Islander 140 merc Bin through 2 of those switches The fix from Merc is an ugly contraption that costs $150 clamps onto the engine beside the carb/intake that I hated and pulled off when I repowered. Once upon a time there was a way of modifying an easily...

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

The transom is 99% good and solid - only one small section is rotten - one inch high and six inches long where the aluminum bracket holds it up. When I was going to inspect her when in water I saw a major trickle coming in port side where the transom meets the side of the hull in the 90 degree...

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

Gonna have to either build a shelter or drag her off the trailer using a winch onto some supports - my garage ceiling is a concrete deck - very low ceiling no way she's going in on the trailer.

    Need a new block!!! 1990 fourwinns 4.3

Somewhere in the Mercruiser forum I read that the 4.3 out of an Astro van with do the job if you switch everything from your marine engine onto the truck block. The big deal seems to be that marine engines need hardened cranks journals etc. so they can run WOT all day . Its my understanding that...

Just gave away a 22ft Thundercraft pocket cruiser that had brackets to cradle an inflatable flipped up on one side. 1973 ISLANDER REFIT

The plan, as it's formulated currently , is to use some of the alu planks as Mcguyvered structure. Under the floor planks I could custom cut and rivet in lateral rib beams that sister for strength and level the floor. Yah headaches to get them rivetted in right.
