Kinda. I find regular posting from my android less then ideal. PM's are particularly troublesome.

That trailer is just a little short for that boat, isn't it Luke?

yea jig, but I have the winch post way back for my 12' tinny. I can move it forward about 2' and should work ok.

Thats so cool! I wish I knew enough about computers to do that lol.
I like it, but not sure how id make the last step up piece in the bow.
Theres about 3Ft in front of the bow seat.
Having trouble thinking how to frame it without adding too much weight.
Can you do that cool stuff to make a framing blueprint? Lol

A couple thoughts. Bear in mind I am a bit picky I guess.
1. That boat isn't that wide. Because of that it will be more "tippy" especially when decked.
2. I fished out of a bigger version of a boat like this for years. It had floors but no casting deck. Floors throughout a livewell in the front bench and gas tank in the rear bench. And had a "tiller console" and 25hp Evinrude tiller

For everything except jerkbaits for bass and musky the fishing was great. If you were in the middle or back jerkbait fishing was OK.

My plan for that boat would be to build a floor throughout the boat and maybe a short front deck. Think about your fishing and build storage compartments accordingly. To me a boat seems like it has more room if you lose floor space to storage, but everything has and is in it's place.

Let's talk about your framing Luke.

I noticed you said you wanted to frame the inside of your boat up out of wood 2x2s, I gotta tell ya... that is the absolute worst material to use for framing the inside of an aluminum boat. It's weak and it's heavy, and if it gets wet it get 4x heavier and rots.

Since you're going to be powering your boat with the 9.9 hp. motor you need to keep your boat as light as possible, and to do that you need to frame your boat out of .063 ga. (I/16" thick) 1-1/2" aluminum angle. Aluminum angle is 10x lighter than wood and much stronger... and it doesn't rot!

Aluminum angle can be bought cheap at scrap yards and recycle centers. Aluminum angle is easy to work with, you can cut it with a circular saw with a carbide tipped blade. You don't have to worry about screwing it together or splitting the wood, just drill a couple holes in it and install rivets. Simple and easy.

The little bow deck on the front of the boat is super easy to build with aluminum framing, I'll draw you something up if you're interested.

OK, I was thinking of using aluminum angle...
But what I HAVE seen of it (home depot, lowes)
It is super expensive for little pieces around 3ft.

I havent saw any longer then that.
I can check the scrapyards on monday to see if they have any.

And yes, I would be interested in seeing some framing ideas.
Thanks for all the help jig, you have been great team player!

Here's those framing sketches Luke:

It isn't to scale and I figured everything on 12" centers, just off the top of my head I'm guessing you'll need about 18 sticks of 8' long 1-1/2" angle.

Here's how to frame the bow deck:

Frame the bow deck after you get the plywood on the big deck, then you can build up off of the big deck.

+1 scrap aluminum and old aluminum items like ladders can be a good source of material. Buying your hardware (rivets/ss hardware) in bulk are the two best ways to save time and money.

The scrap yard close to me sells aluminum at $ .65/lb. It really is a great way to find material. Some times you have to be creative.

Rod holders and cup holders cost me less than $5.00 for two boats.

Your the man jig, I want to add a baitwell in the front deck area. Don't have to be big, I catch and release only. Just enough for my shiners n eel.
Any ideas on this?
I was thinkin a cooler built into it would work fine, lemme know what y'all think.

Also, I see the braces running sideways, would I leave the bench wood in for support?

And thanks guys for the scrapyard ideas. that's what ill try, hopefully I can find some and not just one or two pieces.
I did see a guy use a aluminum ladder on his project as a braces for the deck. Ill tell ya, it looked really strong.

What would you guys suggest as far as supporting the deck in the very front... in front of bow seat.
theres about 3 ft in front of it...can the 'feet' of the framing go anywhere besides the rib on the floor?

ladders make great stringers for running down the center of the hull, then applying the deck to the top. As for the smaller deck, I would use 1"x1"x1/8" aluminum angle and/or 2"x2" lumber. Hopefully, you'll get enough scrap to do the whole project in aluminum, if not the 2"x2" will work well.

Hmm, I just so happen to have a ladder I rarely ever need....it might end up missing for this project lol

This is the front area, this is what im trying to figure out how to frame.
I'm not sure how I'd make it sturdy in the very front point...
