Ok, sorry, I was still using the revised, revision to the old playbook

And then must have missed the muffled audible change up call

Looking good & a wood dash sounds great, and should compliment the vintage gauges, w/ or w/out patina

JB --- I'm confused too... so no worries there! I've made so many changes on the fly to "the plan" that I have to remind myself what is what!

Now... some others (who may or may not reside in mid Michigan) make changes post near completion! :D

Canuks are "on-the-fly" kinda dudes! :loco: :)

Pretty wild Jim! At first it reminded me of a roll-top desk...and I started thinking how slick that would be for storage access  Can't wait to see how this one turns out man!

First, last night I did this:

Jim

So Jim are you going to compound curve the top curve of the instrument face into the curved back (front) of the console?
Cool looking design, definitely out of the box.

Thanks BF! Yah... totally agree. Storage will be up underneath and the rest is for my ridiculously long legs! :)

Thanks Glen!

Response to your question in a word... Yes. Using a few more words, I am not quite sure how yet.... Since it will be covered in vinyl, I was going to try to cover it in 2 pcs to 1. make it easier to layout and 2. make it easier to figure out the angles and curves to get it to work.

Hope you're out of the deep freeze... ya sent it this way.... but we are supposed to climbing out it tomorrow...

uh, Jim, no offense meant, but the temps you guys in the Trackless Arctic Wastes have been seeing are way COLDER than most deep freezes...

You only use deep freezes so the bears don't munch your meat. More like meat lockers.

Ok... a little early morning forward motion!

So, got the console structure completed. Added a clamshell that will get covered in vinyl in the near future. Just temporarily screwed down.

Decided on a name after creating the clamshell --- which looked more like a diamond on the cardboard template I made last night!

Added a shelf and glued in a piece of foamular to act as a soft lip --- it will be vinyled as well.

Finished the under floor floatation:

And cut, screwed and glued the transom...

So there you have it!

Next up is the floor doublers and the front seat/deck area to be cut plus the supports to hold it up.

Little by little.

Have a great Saturday fellas!

Looking good Jim, according to GA all we need is a little eyeliner and mascara, and we will be set for the lake.

I wouldn't go that far, Dozer. But Jim does have the wreath, flowers and that dollhouse in the boat shop.

I'm bored! Forgive me, please.

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Hey fellas... a little more "lipstick and mascara" for ya! :D

So I added a little thickness to the clamshell and the ability to screw it in from below. So it's ready for spar treatment...

I was able to get the doublers cut, glued and screwed on the floor pieces.

After that, I did some foam removal to make room for the doublers and then re-located the removed foam to other spots on the boat.
I also decided to put back in a little console seat --- but move it forward 4" to give a little extra leg room for the passenger.
This is how it looks now.

So getting closer to being able to spar everything. Next up is the front deck piece and it's supports.

Have a great holiday Monday folks!

Might add a doubler cleat below deck to attach the console to as well. If only along the port side. Attached to the starboard gunwale.

Liking how it's coming together.... Good looking.

You do good things with "lipstick and mascara, Jim. The console seat will be nice storage, so a double win.

Maybe you should make the clamshell easily removable - Could make a good shield in case pirates attack. :)

The design is looking real good, Jim, what did you add to the bottom of the Clam shell, it looks like pink foam?
